Rain Rain Go Away... C>

Rain rain go away...

It's been raining non stop here!  It's crazy!  Three days in a row, one day the power went out, and the grass is all duisgusting and muddy and I'm dying!  I love rain, but not this much.  By the way, the thing in the title is supposed to be a rain drop C>  haha, doesn't look like one does it... maybe an icecream cone?

My nails are wet right now so I'm trying to type and not get nail polish on my keys, haha.  My keyboard is really dirty though.  I need to clean it!  Actually, my whole room is a mess!  I need to do some major cleaning tomorrow!

Incase you were wondering I'm painting my nails with Claire's "Secret Garden" and I really really REALLY hate Claire's nailpolishes, I'm not afraid to say that, but this one was on sale for $2.00 so I'm like, SOLD!  And it's actually a really pretty color once you get a few coats on, I'm just not a huge fan of the formula and the brush.  It's a really pretty light blue... kind of like an aquamarine.  It's beautiful!  I got it when I went shopping with Mikayla on Saturday, haha.

Ok, talk to you guys later.  Love you!  C>

Natalie on Relaxation

Today, for some strange reason, I've been feeling very relaxed, and I have no idea why.  I think my bedroom might be part of it because I "deep cleaned" my room yesterday which is what I call it when I like vacume, and clean the furniture, and the mirrors and all that good stuff.  I think because my room is so clean and I can smell like the lemony freshness I'm sort of relaxed.

I'm usually never relaxed because I'm always GO! GO! GO! trying to get a lot of things done, and I'm always pretty stressed out, but today being mothers day I've just been very care free and we've been just hanging in the back yard, and we had crab which is one of my all time favorite foods, and we've just been playing board games and stuff.

Me and my brother had a squrt gun fight which was so much fun and now I smell like water and grass, so I feel really dirty, like I'm not fitting in with my room.  Haha, but I'm about to take a shower so then I'll be all clean and super relaxed.  Today's been a lot of fun so I think when I'm all care free and not so stressed out I'm really relaxed.

I can feel that I'm going to be getting a good nights sleep tonight.  I kind of just want to curl up with a book right now and drink some hot tea or something.  Ha, I'm just in that kind of mood.  Right now I'm reading the second "L.A. Candy" book, "Sweet Little Lies" and I'm almost finished, but I don't have the third one with me right now because I still need to get it from the library, so I'm thinking maybe when I finish it I should take a break from the series.  I've been wanting to read the "Confessions of a Shopoholic" series but then I'm worried when I'm finished I won't want to stop reading the collection and I'll forget all about "L.A. Candy".

I don't know what to do, haha, but I'll figure it out.  I'm going to go shower now.  Oh!  This is really random, but my favorite Body Wash of the moment is B&BW Twilight Woods.  That just came to mind thinking of showers, haha.  It makes me feel so warm and sweet.  Ok, talk to you later :D

Overhyped Mascara: benefit Bad Gal Lash

No doubt about it, if you're as big of a makeup geek as I am, you've heard of the Benefit Bad Gal Lash mascara.  It's the mascara all the beauty gurus rave about.  It's also the mascara that's $19.00.  While some people may be willing to pay this price, I'm not.  I prefer $8.00 drugstore ones.

After hearing rants and raves from beauty gurus rating this mascara 5 star, I figured it was time for me to try it out myself, even if it was the mini, inexpensive version; $9.00 actually.

When I buy a mascara, I look for three main qualities.

1)  The wand.

2)  The formula.

3)  The way it applys.

Different people have different preferences about how they like their wands.  I like a good variety of wands in my mascara collection; some fat, some thin, some bristely, some rubber but, the main thing one thing I look for on the wand of all mascaras is the quality.  If it looks real cheap, like it'll fall off within the first week, I won't buy it.  This mascara, however, had a great wand!  Large and fat: just the way I like it :)

The formula of a mascara should not be goopy.  You shouldn't have to wait that long for it to dry on your lashes.  Otherwise, when you blink it goes everywhere.  I like it to be smooth and light.  The formula of this mascara was perfect.  Not goopy at all.

The way a mascara applys should not be clumpy at all.  It should apply smoothly and flawlessly.  You shouldn't have to spend a lot of time working on it.  You should just be able to throw it on or go without having to seperate clumps with a lash comb, or wipe off smudges with a Q-tip.  This mascara applys fantastically.

So, it sounds like this mascara works pretty well, right?  Right.  It's a great mascara.  I love it!  But, I do think it is overhyped.  Everyone says, "It's SO worth the money!"  "It's so amazing!"  It's not all that great, I have to say.  I've tried better mascaras from the drugstore.  It's not anything that you have to run out and buy for $19 in my opinion but, if you want to try it I would definitely start with the mini version. THat's just my opinion.

I love Benefit and I love this mascara.  I'm just saying, I don't find it that amazing.  Thanks for reading :)

Natalie Eats a Raw Lemon?????

On Friday, Mikayla and I walked down to Chipotle.  We were dirt poor and bored to death!  Being the weirdos that we are... we decided to have some strange fun.  If you're every super bored and have no money, here are some activities you can try with your friends.

1)  Drink a teaspoon of Tobassco Sauce
We tried both kinds: spicy jallepeno, and original.  They were so spicy we each drank half a bottle of water... per teaspoon!  I almost died considering I can barely eat pepperjack cheese without sticking my head under the bathroom faucet.

2)  Eat a raw lemon.
So sour!  But, it actually wasn't that bad.  You  just have to pop it in your mouth, chew it up really fast, and swallow.  :)  You can also try this with limes but, they were out.

3)  Play games with toothpicks.
We took a bunch of toothpicks and made a tick tack toe board with them.  One person was X's and the other was just a diagonal line.  We also played mancalla and broke up the toothpicks into tiny pieces for the beads.

Hope you try these things out!  :)

Lauren Conrad L.A. Candy Addiction

Just thought I'd stop by and tell you guys that I'm officially addicted to the Lauren Conrad" L.A. Candy" series.  I just finished the first one, "L.A. Candy" and not I'm working on the second on, "Sweet Little Lies", and you better believe that when I finish this one I'm starting the third one... I don't know what it's called though.

Lauren Conrad first stared on the MTV reality series "The Hills" and then later went on to design her own clothing line and now she is one of the New York Times best selling authors! Talk about succesful!

The first book in the series centers around Jane, your average girl next door, and her best friend Scarlet, who is a beautiful brainiac.  The two girls move to L.A. and are lucky enough to become part of a reality seried called, none other than, "L.A. Candy".  Now they are completely famous and they can't even walk out of there apartment building without being attacked by papparazzi.

I love these books so much and I would recomend them to anyone who would want to read them!  :)

Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!

For me, easter is all about color!  I love color!  Color is one of the reasons I love makeup.  I love lime greens, and gorgeous blues (teals, turquoises, and aqua marines) fushias and light apstel pinks and vibrant yellows!  I love dying easter eggs, so I thought I'd share a few tips and tricks with you guys :)

My first tip, my moms client just taught me this today, and she said that in the "olden days" when egg dye didn't exist they would wrap eggs in onion peelings then wrap them in cloth and boil them in water.  I tried one, and it was pretty cool.  Not colorful... brown... but it had a nice marbalized effect :)

Another one if to cover an egg in thin strips of tape or stickers shaped like circles and then soak the eggs and then peel them off when you're done and you have nice polkodots and stripes!

The last one is not to use that much vinigar... the color is much mor vibrant.  Hello color!

Happy Easter Everyone!!!  God bless yoU!!!  <3

My Perfume Wish List

Just like many other girls my age, I love perfume, and pretty much anything that smells yummy such as lotions, body splashes, and body butters.  How ever, my favorites are perfumes.  Some of my favorite ones I can't afford though.  Perfume isn't something I'll spend hundreds of dollars on.  In fact, the most I've ever spent on a perfume was about $30.  I know, I'm a cheap skate, but there's nothing wrong with saving money.  :)
These are the perfumes I've either smelled in magazines or in stores such as Sephora or Ulta that I don't own, but I wish I did.  I hope you enjoy, and next time you're at a high end perfume store, try these out!  :)

1)  Vera Wang Preppy Princess
The original Vera Wang Princess, and the second, Vera Wang Rock Princess, were both great, but my favorite one so far is the newest one, Vera Wang Preppy Princess.
2)  Miss Dior Cherie
Did I spell that right?  Idk, but anyways... Miss Dior Cherie is such a sweet scent in the cutest packaging.  There was an article on the history of the perfume in the March issue of Teen Vogue that talked all about the original scetches and all that good jazz.  It was really interesting. I love sweet scents so this perfume is perfect for me!

3)  Daisy by Marc Jacobs
I love Marc Jacobs.  Even though i can't afford the clothing, obviously I'm only 13, when I see his work in magazines it really inspires me.  It's always so bright, and bold, and fearless.  When they came out with the perfume, I was so excited!  Lola by Marc Jacobs wasn't exactly my thing, but this one really hit the spot.  Plus, the packaging is so adorable!  I think there was a new one that came out in February, but I'm not exactly sure what it's called.  But this was was so amazing!

Natalie's Food Obsessions

Just like most other teenagers in the world, I have my crazy food obsessions.  There are the foods I have loved ever since I was 3 which are mainly the ones I can NOT live with out, but there are also the little fads I go through.  Most of you guys know that I go through fads and fazes like a squirrel goes through his nuts.  There was my scarf obsession in 6th grade and my belt obsession earlier this year.  There was my obsession with sour patch kids, which eventually faded away.  Here you'll be reading about my current food fads and the foods I have ALWAYS loved.  I hope you enjoy and maybe try some of these foods out.  :)

My All time Favorite Foods
These are the foods I have ALWAYS loved ;)

1) Dr. Sprite
Yes, you read that right.  I did say Dr. Sprite.  (OMG that rymed!)  It's been my favorite soft drink since I was a small child.  It's a mix of Dr. Pepper and Sprite.  It is so delicious.  Next time you go to a fast food resteraunt, try it!  You will fall in love!!

2)  Sour Cream Harring
I know, it's weird and it sounds duisgusting but I love it... always have!  :)  If you've never tried it, don't judge the name.  It's actually really delicious.  It's a little bitter but it's also very sweet.  I love it!

3)  Plums
Plums are by far my favorite fruit.  I'm obsessed with fruit.  I like fruit more than i like sugar... or starbucks.  ;)  They're so juicy and sweet and just so delicious!

My Food Fads
These are my "faze" foods

1)  Fudge Pop Tarts
I know, they're so unhealthy, but I only have them once in a while.  They're so delicious!  They're basically regular Pop Tarts with a chocolate frosting and a fudge middle.  Delicious!  It's even better with a glass of gold milk!  Yumm yumm!  :D

2)  Apples
Apples?  Really Natalie?  Yes!  Apples!  Recently, my mom bought these really cute mini apples from a local grocery store where I live and they are so adorable!  Every since she got them last month she's been getting them non stop and I've been eating them non stop.  They're healthy too and they're so good with peanut butter... right out of the container :)

How To Stay Focused In School Towards the Summer

As crazy as it is to think about, Summer is almost here!  It's mid April, and for me there's only six weeks of school left so it's super hard to stay focused.  All I can think about is the hot weather, laying out by the pool with my friends, and being able to sleep in!  I get up at 6:00 on school days so I'm so excited to be able to catch up on some sleep.  Good-bye dark under eye circles!  ;)
Today, I'm going to be talking about some different ways you can stay focused in school even though you're just dying for the final bell to ring.  I hope you enjoy reading this and maybe try them out.  Let me know your thoughts in the comments.  Love you!  :)

1.  Listen to happy music

If your school lets you listen to ipods of walkmans in class, use them!  Make a playlist of some happy songs.  Music always helps me concentrate in class.  It makes working more fun.  Some happy songs to try are No Sleep by Wiz Kahlifa, Who Says by Selena Gomez, and California Girls by Katy Perry.

2.  Add color!

An old trick I learned from allthatglitters21 on YouTube, or Elle, is to take notes in color.  If you have to take lots of notes, like I do, write in colorfull gel pens!  Use colors that make you happy.  :)  For me, that's bright pink, lime green, and turquoise.  If your notes are written in color, it will make you more interested.

3.  Make your room smell good

When you're doing homework in your room, try lighting a candle or using an air defuser to make your room smell fresh.  You can make it smell fruity, floral, sweet, whatever you want!  Choose a scent that interests you so you're completely present.

These are my tricks on how to stay focused in school!  I hope you liked them.  Follow me on twitter:  http://twitter.com/#!/xxmakeup99xx and subscribe to my YouTube:  http://www.youtube.com/xxmakeup99xx

Snow Storm = Snow Day = Snow Fun

I've never really been a big fan of the snow.  My mom used to love to ski, snowboard, snow mobile, and do all these fun winter sports so, naturally, she's always encouraging me to try this stuff out.  I've always been more of a summer type of girl.  I love boogie boarding, playing in the waves, relaxing on the beach, and playing summer sports like kick ball.  I'd rather wear shorts and a tank top than jeans and boots.  In face, I used to think the only good part about winter was getting to wear my collection of scarves, my favorite fashion accessory.

After the day I had yesterday, I have a whole new appreciation for winter.  The bitter cold is dreadful, in my opinion, but the snow is beautiful.  It's like, and I quote from The Clique My Little Phony book I'm currently reading, the MAC fairy came and sprinkled frosty white eyeshadow all over the earth and then kissed it with dazzle-glass coated lips.  I love that quote!  Lisi Harrison is such a talented writer!  The snow sparkles in the sunlight, and even at night it glistens in the moonlight.  It's so gorgeous!
Last night I was babysitting my brother for a couple hours and we decided to go outside and play in the snow.  I bundled him up in snow pants, boots, mittens, and a hat.  Then, we headed outside.  We made snow angels, we attempted to build a huge snow volcano, and had a snow ball fight.  My dog, Sammy, was rolling around in the snow and I was thinking, how can you stay warm?!?!?!?

It was a lot of fun!  I would lay in the snow and look up at this huge pine tree we have in out backyard and it was covered in the "Frosty White MAC Eyeshadow".  It was really beautiful.  When I was smaller, around the age of 10, I used to play out in the snow all the time and I loved it, but now I don't really play in the snow that much any more.  I don't know how my dislike for winter occurred, but I do know that now I love the Winter.
The absolute best part about winter is when you're done trilling around in the snow, you can come inside and sit down with a mug of hot chocolate.  The best is swiss miss.  It has little mini marshmallows in it and then I like to put a stick of peppermint in it and when it melts it's delicious!  Try it out and let me know what you think!  :)

My Latest TV Obsessions

What do I do in my spare time?  I dance, I read, I write, I hang out with friends, I shop, I blow my money on things I don't need, I make YouTube videos, and I watch TV.  Most of my favorite shows are from The CW.  It's my favorite Channel to watch!  The CW is the channel that has all the drama, all the gossip, all the laughs and tears.  So, without further-a-do, here are my latest TV obsessions!

#1.  Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars is one of my all time favorite shows.  I remember the day it premiered.  Back then, I really wasn't into watching TV.  I watched YouTube videos all the time.  To my misfortune, I had watched all of my subscriptions so I turned to the holy television.  Little did I know, that was the day Pretty Little Lairs premiered.  After watching the first episode, I fell in love.  They took about a 2 month break a while ago and it just came back on about a week ago.  That was one of the best episodes in my opinion.  What can I say?  They're pretty girls, with ugly secrets.

#2 Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl has always been one of my favorite shows.  I first discovered the show about a year ago right after winter break ended.  I was in 6th grade, at the library.  I had heard a lot about the show.  I had read about the stars Blake Lively and Leighten Meester in celebrity gossip magazines like Twist and J-14.  I decided it was time for me to squeeze into the loop and figure out what all the chatter was about.  I checked out with the season 1 and season 2 of Gossip Girl.  When I got home I popped season 1 into the dvd player.  Each season came with 5 disks and before I knew it I had watched all 10 disks in about 3 weeks.  Gossip Girl is soooo addicting!

#3 90210
90210 is one of my latest addictions.  To be honest, I hadn't even watched it until a few weeks ago but now that I've started watching it I can't stop!  It's amazing and who ever did the casting for the show did a great job because they're all amazing actors!

#4 Americas Next Top Model
The difference between this TV obsession and my other ones is that this is a reality show while the other ones are just dramas.  Americas Next Top Model (ANTM) was introduced to me by my best friend Mary V.  She's always wanted to be a model and this was, and still is, her favorite TV show.  I'd never watched it before, but then one day we watched it at her house.  Modeling looks like a lot of fun.  The show is very competitive and the challenges are so hard!  I would love to be on this show someday when I'm older!

#5 Hell Cats
Honestly, I havn't watched this show in a while.  But I definitely need to start catching up on my Hell Cats soon!  The show came out not too long ago and I love it!  First of all, I love Ashley Tisdale.  She's an amazing actor and a wonderful singer.  She's also insanely gorgeous and i love her new hair color.  I love that she was in the show!  The show is all about cheerleading.  Watching it made cheerleading look really fun.  Who knows, maybe someday I'll want to take up cheerleading.  :)
